The 2016 Carefree Christmas Festival was a ton of fun! As always, individuals, our local merchants and non-profit organizations, and the corporate sponsors were generous with their time, talents, and money. A big "Thanks!" to everyone who participated. The following full page ad will appear in this Saturday's Arizona Republic.
Most of all, a giant "Thanks!" to Christmas Festival Chairwoman Jo Gemmill and her Committee, to the Carefree Town Staff, and to Roberta Toombs-Rechlin of Magic Bird Festivals.
Yesterday, 12/18, Santa (wearing Gina Kaegi's Santa suit) paid a special visit to his Grotto in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion. Many thanks to Joe DeVito for kindly volunteering to do Santa duty. He made lots of kids happy. Thanks too to Councilman Gene Orrico, who volunteered as Santa's elf, and to Gabby Hamouz, Santa's volunteer helper.
