I hurt my back in February. It wasn't too bad then, but it has continued to get worse. I fell two times on Saturday. Herbie and I tried for 2 hours to get me up the first time. Finally, we called Vince D'Aliesio and his family came over, helped Herbie get me onto a slide board and hoisted me into bed. I fell again later that day trying to get to the bathroom on rubbery legs, and we couldn't get me up, so we ended up calling R/M. They got me up and took me by ambulance to Thompson Peak hospital, where I was for 2 days. They did a new lumbar spine MRI on me there, since my old one was more than 6 months old by about a week, and they need one within a 6 month window to even see a consult. I got released yesterday but fell again last night. Herbie and I managed to get me up but I'm really hurting and am having trouble even typing this. The back doc is squeezing me in on Wednesday for my consult and to sign papers for surgery, so I can get into back surgery ASAP, since I keep falling. I am a total mess. I am full of cuts and bruises, shaking, and my legs are really weak from using muscles that haven't seen this kind of use for a number of years. I'm just trying not to fall again, even though I'm using a walker. So you might not be hearing from me as much as usual. I also have to get a knee replacement and have a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder. both of which making getting up problematic. But the good new is that my internal organs are all great. My problems are all mechanical. But you won't be hearing from me as much for a short (I hope!) while.
However, I wanted to get out the presentation from the September Council meeting that was given by the Cave Creek Unified School District, Dr. Cort Monroe and his CFO, about the CCUSD override that will be on the November ballot. Since I am unable to sit for very long at my computer, I am just sending the video Herbert did for all of you to see the presentation. I am hoping to be back to writing Carefree Truth in full soon!
