Martha and I fully endorse Vince D’Aliesio for re- election on the town council! He has proven himself to be totally dedicated to the Town and community and works well with Mayor John Crane as well as Vice Mayor, Cheryl Kroger. He is out there in the community constantly and cares deeply about this town and its future.
Don’t know how this other group came up with the notion that they represent 80% of Carefree but I think it’s made up. Most we know support Vince, the Mayor, Vice Mayor and the current Town Council and staff.

My guess is that the reduction to 16 acres will reduce the desire for John to develop the project. Lost revenue to the town would be significant.  There are only a few other additional areas that could be developed for town revenue. 
Since Carefree does accept federal funds, maybe John Lasson should just develop high density low income housing on the property.   
I just can’t imagine  what town management is thinking, especially as spending increases and tax revenue will continue to be limited.    I think this year’s vote will make all the difference in the what determines the future of our community. Hopefully it won’t be in the hands of a few, who will have to increase taxes and foolishly deplete Carefree's assets.

(Lyn's Note: "Do you understand the definition of Libel?", sure sounds like a threat of legal action to me, and would to anyone else who speaks English.  What, exactly, is YOUR definition of "libel", if not a threat of legal action?  When I heard you incorrectly on a newsletter I sent out, I made an apology and a correction immediately.  I own my mistakes.  But, no, I won't issue a correction on one where I did not make a mistake.  I DO understand the definition of libel, Diane.  Oh, and I also understand correct punctuation, the correct spelling of "legal", and when to use upper and lower case letters at the beginning of words.
By the way, elected officials and those running for office are ineligible to sue someone just because they don't like what is written or said.)
 
 
Lyn:  I fully support Former Mayor Peterson’s comments regarding the vocal minority (who disrespect staff and Council and offer no solutions) who have continued to attack town staff (who are stellar performers) and projects that have benefited our town.  Individuals who act like misbehaving children during town meetings should be promptly removed.

Traynor is seriously messed up!! He is so belligerent and rude!! So glad that Colleen checked it out and saw Traynor’s lies!

Not sure where Traynor dug up the overaged hippy, but I doubt she’ll make a good impression on most of Carefree’s voters.

Just because a developer or anyone else has funds to buy property, if it’s zoned commercial fine if not don’t buy it thinking you can change all the rules to suit you. Things have changed but what I am saying is don’t buy a property that is zoned residential and then hope to change it because it doesn’t suit one’s needs; buy a property that is zoned for what you want.  Zoning shouldn’t have to be changed nor should be an issue

While we now have a contentious election with the usual alliances, behavior has been mostly professional.
