Stan Lowther's 100th Surprise Birthday Celebration will be held on Tuesday, September 19, at 9 AM in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion. Many of you know "Stan the Man", who sits on the bench outside of the Carefree Post Office and visits with everyone. Norm Kolb has organized the event. There will be donuts, water, cheerleaders, a mayoral proclamation, readings, etc. We hope to see lots of you there!
Mayor Les Peterson said Carefree has two signature events, the Enchanted Garden Pumpkin Festival celebrating Halloween, and the Christmas Festival. The carving of the pumpkins is spectacular. Last year, it attracted approximately 60,000 people over the 10 day period. This will be the 3rd year for the Pumpkin Festival, and each year they get bigger and better. The 2 pages below list the Pumpkin Festival schedule of activities as of the August 29th Council meeting.

The Christmas Festival schedule of events will solidify later in the fall. The Town is looking to hold an extended Christmas Festival with similar kinds of activities. Staff members have been pushing hard to organize these two events.
