Councilman Mike Farrar commented that, "the town just gets better everyday. The Christmas Festival is so amazing this year. Everyone has done such a great job." Councilman Gene Orrico commended Mr. Farrar on Ollie the Trolley. Mr. Farrar played the fun Ollie video done by Herbert https://vimeo.com/246544428 and he thanked both of us. He said that many people were involved, and Ollie is a wonderful collaboration between Carefree and Cave Creek. He hopes there will be many more.
Mr. Farrar said Ollie has been hugely received by anyone who has ridden it, and it has received wonderful support from the two towns. It is really a public/private partnership between Carefree, Cave Creek, and the business owners. "I'm proud to say that this has been so successful. Mayor, I have some money here for you. Each Town contributed $11,000 towards this effort. It's going to run through the end of April. Through sponsors and advertisers, we've been able to raise close to $6,000 back to our treasury, hopefully to help market some other opportunities, respectively, for Carefree and Cave Creek." Mr. Farrar passed a check to Mayor Peterson.
Councilwoman Cheryl Kroyer said the trolley is really fun. She rode the whole loop, and there are great places to get on and off. She suggested everyone should, "go ride it. It's free." The Mayor said that after a lot of negotiating Ollie would be in the Christmas Festival parade.

Vice Mayor John Crane reported that the Sanderson Lincoln "Driven to Give" fundraiser benefiting the Veteran's Heritage Project (VHP) took place a couple of weeks prior to the Council meeting. They brought a number of Black Label Lincolns, their top of the line models, to the Carefree sundial for people to test drive. For every first and second test drive, Sanderson Lincoln made a contribution to VHP. There were roughly 200 first and second drives. Sanderson Lincoln donated about $3,500 to VHP. The Vice Mayor pointed out that they were also the sponsors of the improvements to the Carefree Desert Gardens amphitheater. He called Sanderson Lincoln "a great corporate citizen" that "really stepped up".

(Lyn's note: Herbert and I attended Driven to Give. He test drove the new Lincoln Continental and I test drove the newest edition of the MKZ. We got our 2012 MKZ from Sanderson, and we love it. The Black Label models had amazing pops and whistles. We had a blast!)
