(Lyn's note: Mike Farrar is challenging my report on him on social media. This is my response.)
My parents started their tool steel warehouse when I was 5 years old. The business started in a tiny rented warehouse with a single hack saw that had a WWl sticker on it. My parents were the only employees. My father got up at 3 AM and went down to the warehouse to cut steel, then drove the truck to deliver it. My mother ran the office, which was the converted rec room in our house. Broke as they were then, they did not apply for welfare. They worked very hard to build their business into the success it became.
In the mid '90s, my husband and his partner bought the professional component of their practice from the senior partner. It had 2 contracts for hospitals that were not in good neighborhoods. Frank kept his 3 profitable freestanding clinics, which were under a separate corporation. Herbert and John were the only 2 doctors. With the profitable facilities, which Frank owned and they had been paid to cover, removed from the mix, their pay dropped by 2/3. We took second mortgages to build up the practice. We pulled our horns in and sucked it up. With hard work and good business decisions, we survived it and we prospered.
We never considered going on any type of welfare.
The private "insurance card" Mike is presenting as his "proof" is not an insurance card at all, but is the sheet to which tear-off cards are attached. Policy start and end dates are not printed on this page. Mike posted a copy of this sheet on his FB page, along with this text. Continue to scroll down after viewing the insurance page.

Mike should have taken the effort to read this sheet that he is using to "prove" his private health insurance so his story would match the information on the "Welcome to" sheet. The only date noted is in small print at the bottom, "Redirect Health member since 2018". Other small print on this sheet reveals that this is marginal health insurance. *This plan does not cover urgent care, specialists, ER, or hospital visits." "**Unlimited primary care and chiropractic visits at Arrowhead Health Centers and Redirect Health only, when directed by Redirect Health." "To receive care, call Redirect Health first."
The people with access to medical information are the patient and the patient's physician/s. Mike is now insinuating on his Facebook page that Herbert somehow accessed his medical records. Mike is not, and has never been, a patient of Herbert's.
Herbert was NOT the person who discovered Mike's welfare health insurance. It would never have occurred to him that someone driving Mike's multiple high end vehicles, living in a nice home (whether owned or rented) and wearing expensive clothes would be on any type of welfare. It was discovered by a professional fraud investigator who has done this for a long time and is very thorough.
Absolutely none of Mike's medical information was sought or seen by the investigator. Only the proof of insurance page was seen. According to the investigator, the page showed the dated (10/01/2009) original photo ID and the current policy start and end dates. Mike's policy began in 2009 and continues to be active until March, 2019. Renewals are annual. This was not a short term emergency fix.
Mike also claims on social media and on his posters to own the house in which he lives, ie: property in Carefree. He does not. I had a quit claim deed on my mother's house too. If unrecorded, it simply means that upon the death of the owner of record (in this case Mike's mother, who lives in Glendale), the house will pass to him immediately without having to go through an estate settlement. That was the purpose of my quit claim deed. The owner is the one to whom it is recorded and to whom the tax bills are sent. That person is Sarah Farrar, just like my mother owned her house until her death, my quit claim deed notwithstanding. At no time did I say or believe that I owned Mom's house before her death. If Mike does indeed believe that his unrecorded quit claim deed gives him ownership of the property, then he is hiding an asset. Neither option speaks well of him.
Driving with a falsified licence plate further demonstrates his character. This is not "dirty politics". The voters have a right to know the ethical make-up of their candidates. Mike is right about one thing. Carefree deserves better.
