Lyn, just saw two dogs running between Carefree Dr and Serene. One was white and black maybe pit bull and the other brown. Drove around and tried to find them without success. Looked like they were wearing collars.

The 2 dogs running loose earlier that I put out in Letters were found and returned to their family. Yea!
Lyn
Mac took a great one this morning and just sent it to you. You know him as a bagger at Bashas for the past 12 years.
Buel Wetmore
I saw this morning I thought you would like to see this.
Mac Wetmore, your bagger buddy from Bashas
Mac's a nice kid. I sent the double rainbow to Herbie to put in Carefree Truth Pictures of the Week. I'll feature it in the email body.
Lyn
Thanks so much! Mac is on cloud nine. Mac, his Mom, Melody and I have lived in the area for almost 25 years....the last 14 here at Carefree Estates. We love it here and you do a lot to keep that feeling alive. Mac is a wonderful guy who really deserves a boost like this. Thanks again to you and Herb!
Warmest regards,
Buel
I love Bashas in Carefee and am happy for the beautiful new changes.

Hey Lyn,
Attached is a little tidbit of info about Basha's I thought you might enjoy.
Imagine in today's financial environment, a small company from Arizona emerging from bankruptcy in a little over a year with a plan to pay 100% of its outstanding debt to all creditors then actually doing so. Most companies would not have survived and if they did, their creditors would have taken a beating. But this was not just any company. This was the Basha company, and true to its values, they emerged stronger than before.
I had the privilege to meet Eddie Basha on more than one occasion over the years and learn from this unique man the value of community service and involvement on so many levels.
Carefree has a lot more to celebrate than cutting a ribbon tomorrow morning.
If you open this link: http://www.bashas.com/AboutUs/History.aspx
(Or open the link called Company History found in the fine print at bottom of Basha's website homepage) you'll find the story of an American dream born long ago in NYC which became the story of the Arizona dream personified by the Basha family today.
It's a great story that will make a perfect day in Paradise that much better.
Cheers
Phil Corso

Dear Lyn and Herbie,
I am combining my love for Arizona Border Collie Rescue, animals in general and physical fitness to save some animals!
Join me on my quest to raise as many funds as possible at this years SWEAT FOR PETS: Walk, Run & Roll, benefitting the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.
I want to help provide the best care to each homeless pet in our community and truly make a difference. Just $10 would make a huge contribution to my goal.
Arizona Border Collie Rescue takes in stray Border Collies from all over Arizona and beyond. But, all breeds and mixes of dogs, cats and other animals are served and saved by the HSSA.
Did you know?
The average cost of care for each animal at HSSA is $950. That of course includes proper vaccinations, a spay/neuter surgery, food, shelter, a warm place to sleep and if they need it, behavioral training and special medical attention. Pretty amazing for an non-profit that doesn't receive any government funding!
Will you support me?
You can make a donation to my fundraising campaign right here by clicking on "Donate Now" on the top right side of this page. If you want to participate in the event with me, you can register now on this site.
Let's save the animals that can't save themselves.
Thank you so much!

I'm not going to get this 100% right but please bear with me to the end!
Vetsbuilt just hired a new plumber as a sub-contractor yesterday; this one is called Veterans Plumbing. It's a no-brainer! We are now at about 70+% of our sub-contractors as veteran-owned small businesses!
As I was talking to Destiny, the Office Manager at Veterans Plumbing, this morning she said she had to hang up and call me back due to an emergency: typical plumber! Five minutes later she called and apologized, explaining she was trying to find a backhoe for a very special job. Being the nosy guy I am, and possibly knowing where to find a backhoe, I asked her what was the emergency.
This is where I'm going to get it wrong but the story-board is close... She explained that a local veteran who is down on his luck had a sewer pipe break around his yard. Something about insurance not being able to cover it and he doesn't have $4,000.00 to fix it. So he started to dig "latrine holes" in the yard... The neighbors "caught-wind" so-to-speak and called the health department. They in-turn investigated and are going to evict him if he doesn't get the pipe fixed by this Friday. Again, I'm paraphrasing but I'm close....
Frank who owns Veterans Plumbing offered to do the plumbing for free but he needed a backhoe to dig a 30' long by 4' deep trench. He needed someone to do this for free. I told Destiny I have an outstanding relationship with the local Home Depot here in Cave Creek and I'd call Celeste Leweallen, the GM, and see what I could do as I know they rent big tools.
Celeste immediately told me she would donate a machine out of her store, but the job is in Sun City, about 40 minutes west of here, so she offered to call the GM of the local Sun City store. Within 1 hour Celeste called me back saying we are GOOD-TO-GO; the GM agreed to help out and donate a machine for free!
Frank is picking up the backhoe at 0800 Thursday and will get the trench dug so he can replace the pipe with a new one!
VETS HELPING VETS.... And a huge thank you to the folks at HOME DEPOT for stepping up to the plate; you guys rock in my book!
LOL, only after all this was said and done Destiny told me later Channel 5 is going to cover the story! Keep an eye open Thursday afternoon here in Phoenix; this is a FEEL-GOOD story and we at VETSBuilt are proud to be a part of it!
