(Lyn's note: Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included. If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category. We have a special section for that purpose. If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations. Here are the links to this week's Pictures of the Week. Enjoy!)

Mindfulness and Self Expression Workshop… what a wonderful way to reset yourself for the new year. Wish they had a weekend session for us stressed 9-5 ers.
Art and Wine Festival looks like fun. I hope it doesn’t rain up there like it is here “down below”.

I have three suggestions for the land on easy Street that Mr Lewis is selling.
1. A boutique Hotel,
2. A bed and breakfast,
3. A Mixed theater ( movies and live performances).
Don't forget to hand in your entries for the Carefree Desert Gardens Photo Contest.

I was under the impression that ALL this pumpkin activity was aimed at raising revenues by increased sales taxes from Carefree businesses. If this did not happen, why continue trying to beat dollars our of visitors just to cover costs?
Carefree is not in the entertainment business. Carefree is not a group of merchandisers.
If thousands of dollars worth of donations still leave Carefree $27,000 in the hole, what good is all (by your estimate) $48,000 worth of PR value to us?
If the goal is to make money, you need to start completely over with a true business model.
If your goal is to get "feel good" press coverage and thousands of visitors at this high cost, just say so, pay for it, and quit trying to gouge others just to break even, which won't happen.
As it is now organized, none of this makes any sense at all!
