Here is your bonus round from Herbert.
We noticed the neat shadows on the sail above the Carefree Kiwanis Splash Pad scorpion in the Carefree Desert Gardens on the way home Saturday night. Herbert had his camera and several lenses in the trunk because we had been doing a video and photos for a special Easter dinner that was prepared by Alberto for friends of ours and his family.

Lyn,
Ron Bacher (Santa for the Carefree Christmas Festival) passed away yesterday. He was the very best Santa for our Christmas Festival and brought such joy to so many children over the years.
He had heart problems and died suddenly, doing what he loved to do...helping others.
I know the entire community will miss him and have many fond memories of him as the Carefree Christmas Festival Santa.
He was a loving, kind man.
People have written lovely things on my Facebook page about him, so many cherished memories. I will send them to Annette, his wife, when the time is right.
Thank you.
Jo Gemmill
I just got off the phone with Ron’s wife Annette and his granddaughter. They set up a Go Fund Me Page to help support his family now that he isn’t around to support them. Ron wore many hats and one of them was an artist and didn’t really have a huge savings account, so this will help his family immensely. We encourage folks to go donate instead of sending flowers etc.

If we can share with folks, Annette would be grateful for that.
Thank you!
Gina Kaegi
(Lyn's note: This is one of the saddest things I've heard in a long time. Ron was wonderful. What a terrible loss. A lot of people will mourn him.)
Hi Lyn,
Good news. Thank God the mommy GSD was found last night. A 24 hour vet called the owner from the microchip. The dog was found on the side of the road in Mesa but has an injury to the leg and cannot walk.
Thank you,
Gail
Great summary!

Hi Lyn,
This blog was done about us and Carefree by a couple from Palm Springs
who will be traveling the country the next two years and then Europe to
promote artistic communities and art galleries. Can you use any of this on your website for attracting locals and visitors to Carefree? Their website is

TED PHILLIP DENTON CONTEMPORARY ARTMarch 2018Next Stop, Easy Street - Carefree, AZ
Thirty-six miles northeast of downtown Phoenix, in the Arizona desert, sits a small town steeped in the arts. Carefree, Arizona, founded in 1959, was the vision of KT Palmer and Tom Darlington, two men dedicated to the celebration and preservation of the arts. And located in the heart of downtown Carefree, in the Carefree Desert Gardens, is Easy Street.
Situated on four acres and open 365 days a year, Carefree Desert Gardens is one of only two public botanical gardens located in the area. This beautiful, pedestrian friendly oasis in the desert is home to an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and art galleries. Known as the “100 Easy Street Arts District”, downtown Carefree has evolved into an exciting art destination by featuring galleries that offer a different look at today’s art scene. And one particular art gallery no art enthusiast or collector should miss is Ted Phillip Denton Contemporary Art.
