On 5/31/18, John Traynor wrote: "Anyway, I hope to upload much of the relevant information, including a supporting brief filed by Lyn Hitchon, which is no surprise considering that she is spoon-fed information from the town administrator and then has her material edited by none other than the Plaintiff, Vice Mayor Crane."
Lie #1 is in reference to John Crane's successful court case overturning illegal term limits. In small towns like Carefree, there exists a limited pool of willing and qualified candidates from which to draw. Term limits also limit the voters' choices. I submitted this opinion to the 2011 County Elections Pamphlet. The Pamphlet, which is sent out to all Maricopa County registered voters before elections, includes the referendums on the ballot, accompanied by pro and con statements for each. I also expressed it in Carefree Truth at that time, and I stand by it now. While I do agree that small towns should not have term limits, I did NOT file the supporting brief claimed, IN WRITING, by John Traynor.
Lies #2 & 3 are that I am spoon fed information by Gary Neiss, and that my text is edited by John Crane. My newsletters follow the videos my husband records of the Council meetings. If anyone questions this assertion, click on the uncut videos which are included with each newsletter. They are active links. Our newsletters can be found at www.carefreetruth2.com.
John Traynor managed to crank out these 3 lies in a single sentence, more examples of the long string of habitual malicious innuendos, lies and purposeful disinformation he has spewed over many years. So, John, it's time to put up or shut up. I demand that you either produce this non-existent supporting brief, or produce a public written apology. We can address the apologies for lies #2 & 3 at a later date.
You ended your newsletter of 6/6 with the quote, "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do", equating yourself with Jesus Christ on the cross. Well here's another one for you, John. NINTH COMMANDMENT: “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour” (Exodus 20:16). Simply put, this commandment encourages you to speak the truth. “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour” (Ephesians 4:25). People who misrepresent others or spread rumors about a person’s character bear false witness. “Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips” (Proverbs 24:28).

Those signs are an embarrassment and frankly tacky. They show how little respect Mike Farrar has for the citizens of the town.

Lyn:
Your “piece of wisdom” is good advice to the businesses, not just in Carefree. There is no need to give any reason to anyone why they should not patronize your establishment.
Growing up in the UK, I recall learning the three (not two) topics that police officers were trained never to discuss: Religion, politics and sex! All three can get you in trouble. Lyn, how could you have forgotten to include sex? (That’s my little attempt at humor, just in case I am misunderstood.)

Mike the Rooster
Sarah was in the fertilized egg business. She had several hundred young pullets and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. She kept records and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.
This took a lot of time, so she bought some tiny bells and attached them to her roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so she could tell from a distance which rooster was performing. Now, she could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report just by listening to the bells.
Sarah's favorite rooster, ole Mike, was a fine specimen but this morning she noticed ole Mike's bell hadn't rung at all! When she went to investigate, she saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets hearing the roosters coming would run for cover.
To Sarah's amazement, ole Mike had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job, and walk on to the next one.
Sarah was so proud of ole Mike, she entered him in a show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded ole Mike the "No Bell Piece Prize", they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well.
Clearly ole Mike was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on the planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention?
Vote carefully in the next election. You can't always hear the bells.
Hi Lyn:
The Sonoran News has a big article about the last Carefree Town Council meeting. In the section describing Glenn Miller's call to the public words, Wes Gruden wrote, "....adding he was ashamed of them (Les Peterson and John Crane) and also a little ashamed of councilman Mike Farrar." Wes' take on Glenn's comments was the same as your understanding.

(Lyn's note: Last week's Letters had a correction to our newsletter from Glenn Miller, saying he was ashamed of Town Attorney Mike Wright, not Mike Farrar.)
Hi Lyn;
You have probably noticed by now that the City of Scottsdale has finished construction of the northbound left turning lanes at Mountainside Drive and Arroyo off Carefree Highway. Many thanks to the Carefree Highway Safety Coalition for their lobbying efforts to make this happen. The turning lanes will make Carefree Highway safer for Carefree drivers traveling into their communities. All that is left to do is paint the street with the directional arrows, that for some reason that has not been done yet. In this connection, and reluctantly, I’m sad to report that the City of Scottsdale has reneged on their promise to build a dedicated right turning lane at 60th street. We were led to believe in our meeting with the Department of Transportation two years ago, that this much needed safety improvement, which would greatly relieve the eastbound traffic congestion on Carefree Highway, especially in peak traffic hours, would be constructed along with the northbound turning lanes. We found out just three weeks prior to the commencement of construction, that this part of the project was being scrubbed and delayed indefinitely. The City of Scottsdale’s Department of Transportation stated that 60th street traffic signal light poles were in the way and must be relocated thus adding great cost to the project; and there is no additional money available to cover the cost. They further stated that a roundabout was being considered instead and they were two plus years out for anything to be constructed. With all due respect to them, they knew, or should have known, that they would have to move the traffic light poles in order to accommodate the right turning lane two years ago, when we met with them.
I’ll bet if the citizens of Carefree voted in Scottsdale, the outcome would have been much different. We plan to lodge a strong complaint with the City of Scottsdale’s Major and City Council; maybe they can find the money.
