Lyn's note: Please feel free to send us any pictures you'd like included. If your photos are for sale, let us know and we will put them under that category. We have a special section for that purpose. If anyone would like to buy a print of any of Herbert's photos, all profits will be donated to one of the local non-profit organizations. Here are the links to this week's Pictures of the Week. Enjoy!)

And here's one we sent out to our friends of the orange moonset, just before it dipped below the mountains to the west on Monday morning. Herbie was about to leave for work, but took the time to grab his camera for a quick hand held shot from our front porch when he saw how pretty it looked. We got a slew of responses from people who loved it, so I am including it for all of you to see too.

Historic Spanish Village Secures Long Awaited Restaurant!
With over 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Joe Viher, has finally secured the long awaited space in Spanish Village for his modern Latin table “dream”. Bacán, which means “awesome” or “cool” in Latin, will consist of a heavy Central South American influence and present itself as an upscale, casual dining experience. Modern Latin food is known to offer a lighter, healthier menu, featuring fresh meats, small plates, seafood, soups, salads and sandwiches with a Latin influence. There isn’t much you won’t see with over 35 items on the menu. Working recently as a consultant for many known restaurants in the Valley, Joe is still remembered for owning the popular Spanish Village Bodega Bistro and Tapas Bar ten years ago, attracting long lines out the door. Before the anticipated November 2017 opening, Joe will introduce his well-respected chef, but until then you will notice renovation being done to the site including an increase in the size of the bar and creating a 300+ seating experience. Plans also include rooftop dining, offering guests stunning views of Elephant Butte and Black Mountain. Bacán will offer the community an experience like no other and refresh the menu based on seasonality and current trends. Bacán is located at Historic Spanish Village, 7212 E. Ho Hum Rd., #5, and will open for brunch, lunch and evenings with plans to offer a competitive happy hour.
