(Lyn's note: The English Bulldog puppy was found and returned to his owners on Tuesday morning. The people who found him saw the posters and recognized him. Yea! This is why it's important if you lose a dog to do it all. The more it gets out there, the better the chance of finding your furkid.)
Hello Lyn:
First let me express my personal thanks to Mayor Peterson and past Council for a stellar job. As a new member of Council I can say I am most excited and optimistic of Carefree’s future. As the Mayor states much has been done yet much more needs done. I have all confidence in what Council, citizens, businesses and non-profits will do in the coming months that will better guarantee a vibrant Carefree future. I encourage everyone to get involved to lend a voice and a hand in the work yet to follow.

Stan came in the Carefree UPS Store about 2 years ago. I asked him, "Why did you chose to live in Carefree?" He replied, "I heard Carefree is God's waiting room....". My ribs still hurt.
Michael
Hey, who is his plastic surgeon, I want an appointment.
Lois Treacy
How fun. What a true town treasure.

Dear Lyn: Regarding Bob Jenkins letter to you, I thought you would like to know that I saw their ad through your Carefree Truth email and
contacted my friend and Magic Bird Festivals event weekends assistant, Lia Abate about this job prospect knowing she was in search of added employment and had the perfect skill set and personality for the job. She is the local woman they hired. She and I are thrilled ! Furthermore, we love to see that the Jenkins Business is based very smartly and patriotically on hiring our Military Veterans. BRAVO !!!!

"Iconic" Black Mountain Coffee Shop has enjoyed the benefit of increased foot traffic and extra business as a direct result of our wonderful Art Fairs for more than twenty years previously to the new ownership taking over the operation of the coffee shop. The Art Fairs do not negatively impact their local business but enhance it. Food vendors offer choices for many and do not detract from area food establishments. Perhaps BMCS should consider additional participation by setting up an additional venue at the Art Fairs in the form of a food venue to take further advantage. Denying other food vendors and shoppers the fun fair food experience is a bad idea. Also, our local musicians are talented people who are not desperately seeking cheap outlets to profile their diverse talents. Suggesting that they can be hired "dirt cheap" is an insult. The Art Fairs are a win-win situation for all local businesses, participants, and residents.

Hello Lyn,
I don’t think Marty Holmes was trying to demonize the work, skill or talent it takes to be a musician . I Just believe he was making a comparison to the cost of paying someone a huge salary or fee to tell the town what it needs vs good ideas for the town to use the money on. Just saying !
Sincerely,
Chris A. Mellon C.E.O.
