Hi Lyn,
I am surprised to learn that my name is still being used as having endorsed Michael Farrar in his run for Mayor of Carefree, which is simply not true. I had heard this from others a few weeks ago and called Michael directly and he assured me that he had not made any statements to that effect. I have been out of town on business, and didn’t realize this was still going on, and just want to set the record straight. Thanks to you and Herbie for all the time and effort you devote to Carefree.

By now you have all read about John Crane’s challenging of the Town’s term limits. I won’t go into all the technicalities of our law except to say that even though the Town’s citizens voted for term limits, it was never a legal action since the State Legislature does not acknowledge or accept term limits.
And no matter what you have been lead to believe, this is very good news for our town.
First of all, I strongly believe that the voters don’t need a law limiting the number of terms an official can be elected. The voters themselves are the ultimate term limit. If you don’t like the job we are doing, you can vote not to reelect us.
Secondly, in this as in the last election, there are no opponents for our Council seats. Why would we turn away someone who wants to serve when there are no others willing to step up to the plate?
And lastly but of even greater importance, John Crane has served our town for the last 3 terms and for the last 2 terms been our Vice Mayor. In my opinion we couldn’t ask for a more dedicated person to serve us. He is fair, honest and has no hidden agendas. He studies the issues and then makes informed and well thought out votes. He is just working on the behalf of all of us to make Carefree the best town it can be.
Good for you John Crane. I will happily serve the next term(s) with you if the voters see fit to extend both our terms in office.

Town of Carefree
Hello followers of the Carefree Truth, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Vince D'Aliesio, and I'm a very happy and proud Carefree resident, along with my wife Cheryl, and kids: Noah (age 15), Sophie (12), and Matthew (12).
I am running for a seat on the Carefree Town Council this summer, and I am ecstatic at this opportunity! I'm a native Phoenician (my family moved to Phoenix when I was 7 mos old), and my wife and I found gold when we made the decision to move to Carefree in 2016. We dreamt for many years that we would one day fulfill our dream to live here, and it finally happened for us. We love it here and not a day goes by that we don't tell each other how lucky we are to raise a family here. The views of Black Mountain every morning, the people we've met, the events we attend.... all are amazing.
Without getting into too much detail that could bore you, my wife and I spoke at length about the possibility of giving back and getting involved. We plan on making Carefree our home for many years to come, so its important for us to be as involved as we can in helping keep this community the community that everyone we have met tells us that it is--a small community with steady yet sustained growth and keeping preservation a priority and taking time to get together and enjoy our local festivals.
We believe in spending wisely, continuing to market our town in such a way that we can track the $$ coming back through the promotion of our local events, taking care of our water supply, and environmental preservation. Infrastructure is critical as well, as we have streets that will soon need repair, if not already...
We love the arts and hope that we can do more to promote all the beautiful artistry created by local artists, including theater.
By the way, we live in the oldest house in town!
I appreciate the AWESOME folks that publish the Carefree Truth for allowing us this forum to greet you and let you know that I look forward to meeting you in the coming months. I put together a little website with a longer intro letter that you can read more, along with some photos (Thanks Herb Hitchon for the beautiful family photo---if you didn't already have a career, I'd say you missed your calling!). Please give our site a visit and drop us a line!

My question is, what did the good citizens of Carefree do to deserve someone like Farrar? He has done nothing to demonstrate his leadership skills, business acumen or how he really sees the future of Carefree. After the trolley fiasco it has been hard to tell if he really likes Carefree, much less wants to govern here. He would be better off moving to a bat cave in Cave Creek and running for office under the tutelage of that well known kingmaker Don Sorchych.
