Carefree Classic Wheels & Wings | Something Special on The Road and In The Air 

The Carefree Wheels & Wings show took place on Saturday, April 2nd at Sky Ranch Airport, which was celebrating its 60th Anniversary by hosting the show from 10 AM-2 PM, and holding an open house. Both were free to the public.

 
 
The weather was absolutely perfect.  There were many rows of pre-1980 cars and a number of very neat planes and remote controlled planes on display.  During the show's set-up, Vince D'Aliesio did his Varsity Sports Show radio show on site that morning from 8-10 AM, with Vice Mayor John Crane as his co-host.  Vince's dad sat beside John and Vince, enjoying his day out with his son.

Vince also had his 1979 Alpha Romeo Spider on display.  It's the first car on the second photos link, green with red and white stripes.  Herbert and I got there around 8:15 so he could photograph all the vehicles before the crowd arrived, so I got to hear Vince's show and watch as the cars and some more planes arrived while Herbert worked.  Herbert and I exited as the crowds began to flow in through the gate.  It was extremely well attended, with an estimated 5,000 visitors over the course of the 4 hour show.
