We saw this flower on a cactus in the Carefree amphitheater when we were there filming the 8th night of the Chanukah celebration. These are usually out in the spring/summer, not on December 17th

(Lyn's note: I was going to use the video of Kevin Glenn's Christmas concert, but it was so wonderful that we decided to give it its own Carefree Truth issue. It will be sent out on Friday, Christmas Day. Thanks, Kevin!)

Bob Jenkins and Vetsbuilt Contracting built a 10x12 shed at my house. Bob saved me a few dollars by letting me paint it. His crew worked really hard and they picked up after themselves so there was no mess left behind! Bob is a solid member of our community and a friend to all. Call Bob at 978-578-0647 if you have any contracting work (including remodeling) that needs to be done.

Lyn,
I had lunch with John Denver in Hong Kong about two months before he was killed flying his experimental plane over the bay in Monterey, CA.
Great guy. Very humble.

Hi Lyn,
Thanks again to both you and Herb for all you are doing. As you said it us good to have the two cameras there every night, and it was especially critical having your version on Sunday night when the audio didn’t work on the livestream and after such an amazing night last night with the cantor, it will also be important to use Herbert’s video/audio for last night as there were some issues with the audio on the live streaming tape as well. I look forward to getting last night's when you have time to send. The cantor is very much looking forward to it as well.
We applied for and received a grant from APS. We used the money to be able to afford the extra expenses associated with the web page and live streaming, as we knew this year live streaming would be critical. JV Sports (Vince) also helped with the costs of the live streaming and Tech 4 life with the costs of the web page so we are very thankful and appreciative to have such great support from them (as we are also thankful and appreciative of you and Herb) as well as from the community and the town too…..of course!
Karen
I want to thank Vince and Herbert for creating this great recording that I already forwarded to the Holocaust Association, and I already got an email back from Janice (who is the one I coordinated with that came down with Covid), with great thanks to the Town and us for coordinating this and for also sending her get well wishes!
I am providing a link to the recording below, and also forwarding an email I got from a friend that actually stayed on the livestream, even though she could not get the visual of the Holocaust presentation, finding the audio amazingly powerful. Certainly it will be best to have the live streaming working LIVE, but at least this program was strong enough for this person. And impacting even one person is valuable.

Hi Karen,
Thanks for forwarding the email with the information for the Chanukah Celebration in Carefree this year. I signed onto the streaming service for Monday, 12/14. It was an excellent service and very moving, Not sure what the sound was like for the Holocaust speaker at the live event at the Carefree Plaza, but the sound was perfect over the computer.
Congratulations to you and the rest of the Chanukah committee for figuring out how to continue this annual celebration of the festival of lights during the pandemic. I haven't been able to sign in to the streaming view for other nights, but thoroughly enjoyed the service on Monday night,
The Holocaust survivor speaker, Phillip, was very engaging. Even though he was basically a baby during WWII, he was able to describe his journey of survival and ultimately to America. Although we couldn't see the pictures of his Mother and the Ladies that saved him at Kinder Haven he wanted to show, he described them so eloquently I could picture them in my mind.
We have so few Holocaust survivors left, it is important to hear their stories so we never forget. Thanks for all your efforts in making this happen.
Hope you and Glenn are having a safe and nice Chanukah. Hope to see you either on a Rotary Zoom call or in person (hopefully) soon!
Love,
Ann Burke
Thanks again to you all. Sending light and love!
Karen
(Lyn's note: The livestream had technical difficulties that night and was just broadcasting the audio. The video did record on Vince's computer, and he sent that to Herbert to combine with what he recorded at the beginning and end of the program, creating the video that Karen put on the Chanukah website and sent to the Holocaust Association.)
Wow Lyn. I just saw that Herb did a great job patching it together!!!! This is great. I will get this posted on the web page as the recording accessable and forward it to the Holocaust society! Thanks Vince, for being able to facilitate this on Zoom! I am sure everyone will appreciate this, especially the Phoenix Holocaust Association and Phillip!
Regards,
Karen
Thanks so much Lyn You both have been so amazing and helpful through the holiday. :) Appreciate the recordings and all that you both do for the community!
