Mayor Les Peterson asked staff members to read the public comments that had been received via email.  All the letters are included in the 2 links below.  There were a total of 61 letters.  All but 2 supported the move of the Carefree Service Area (CSA) customers served by the Cave Creek Water (CCW) over to the Carefree Water Company (CFWC) system.  The comments cited brown water, water containing grit that ruined appliances, health concerns, outages, lack of proper fire hydrant maintenance including some hydrants that were partially buried in soil, lack of infrastructure maintenance, the precarious future of CCW's water supply, and the effect this has on property values. 
 
 
Many also cited how everyone was paying higher sewer rates that were imposed on Liberty Utilities customers due to the closing of the sewer plant in the Boulders that was emitting horrific sewer gas odors, rendering some homes there unlivable.  It was pointed out that no one complained about that, and it only benefited the Boulders.  They asked that the residents in the Boulders "do the right thing" like everyone else did to help solve the sewer problem in the Boulders.
 
 
Mayor Peterson noted that he's been a Council member or the Mayor for 6-1/2 years.  The concerns expressed in the comments read run parallel to what he has heard at every HOA meeting he has attended, and what he hears from residents when he is at Bashas', Ace, or anywhere else around town.  The topics identified of the issues are consistent.
