Hello Lyn.
I am Lara Hoover, daughter to Arthur Gimson. I found this email going through some of Arthur’s past correspondence, and I’m wondering if I’ve found the correct place to share the sad news that Arthur passed yesterday. He was at home with his wife and two ridiculous dogs he loved dearly, as he wished. He was 81. Arthur did not want a funeral, but arrangements for a small memorial service may be forthcoming.
Thank you for sharing the news of Arthur's passing with those with whom he shared his life in Carefree. Please feel free to also share that his wife's name is Patricia (Patti) and their mailing address is: PO Box 3186, Carefree, AZ 85377.
Again, I appreciate your efforts in Arthur's memory. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or additional information that would be of interest.
Best regards,
Lara Hoover

Arthur served one term on the Carefree Town Council, during which time he took over the Carefree Veteran's Day event that was formalized by former Councilwoman Susan Vanik. He convinced Marcelle Chase to share her experiences as a child in Nazi occupied Belgium. It was an amazing presentation. Here is the link to read it. http://carefreetruth.com/Carefree_Truth/CFT_201.html
The link to listen to her speak is included in the Carefree Truth newsletter, Carefree Truth #201: Memories of the WWII German Occupation of Belgium: 11/11/2012
Arthur was very dedicated to the Carefree Caring Corps, and volunteered there for many years. He not only served his community through that fine organization, but also trained others to help people in and out of the handicapped van.
Arthur was honored with "The Spirit of Carefree Award". He will be missed by so many whose lives he touched. Herbert and I send our deepest condolences to Patti and Lara.
