Vice Mayor John Crane announced that May 5th-11th is Carefree Restaurant Week. He suggested that people take the opportunity to go out and visit our many fine restaurants.
Friday, May 10th, is National Public Gardens Day. At 10 AM there will be a presentation on Desert Medicinal Plants. Since many plants produce pods at this time of year, it is an ideal time to learn how to pick and use them for health purposes. There will be artists and musicians throughout the day. At 12:30 the Carefree Desert Gardens Photo Contest Awards will be presented on the stage of the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion. Gift certificate prizes have been donated by Alberto's Ristorante, Giordano's Trattoria Romana, Lara Bistro, and Venues Cafe for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Public Favorite winners. The Public Favorite photo will be announced at that time. The ceremony will be hosted by Vice Mayor Crane.
The day is focused on the Gardens, so take advantage of this nice weather and Carefree's beautiful Gardens.
