Vice Mayor John Crane reminded everyone that the next Gardens seminar will take place on Saturday, February 9th, starting at 9:30 AM in the Council Chambers at 33 Easy Street. He explained that it was put together by a group of Master Gardeners.  They are bringing in an expert on legumes, which are trees and bushes with pods.  Examples of legume trees are ironwoods, palo verdes, and mesquites.

Guest Speaker: Dr. Marty Wojciechowski
Associate Professor at ASU
specializing in legume research
Legumes are more diverse than other flower plant families with 19,500 species worldwide. Dr. Wojciechowski will discuss the unique aspects of legume biology, their diversity in the Southwest, and their importance in agriculture, horticulture and ecology.
Seminars are held the second Saturday of the month, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 33 Easy St.

Programs usually include a plant raffle, and a suggested donation of $5 or more is requested in order to support these programs.
Early attendance is recommended.
