Lyn,
It’s so nice to see people so involved in their community and having an influence on what is happening, where they live. There is so much apathy in our country today. DeBlasio got elected to mayor in NYC with a 70 % plurality with less than a 20 % voter turnout. Too many people don’t know or care. As Bob Grant said,”your influence counts, use it”. You and Herbie KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Walter Smith
Lyn,
There is one crossing on Tom Darlington near Spanish Village, that has a flashing light that the pedestrian can initiate. The light is so high that on one occasion I didn't see it because my eyes were "on the road".
Ted Dimon
That crossing now has a rapid flashing strobe light system which replaced the previous system with lights that were located at a higher level.
Gary Neiss
Thank you for letting me know.
Ted
Lyn, the City could install a timed stop flashing red light on a post (would maybe need 4 lights with 2 facing each way on both sides of road) that is triggered by the crosser pushing a waist high button on a pole and a sensor on the other side on a pole turn it off (with timer incase person midway decides to go back). This would allow the walker, motorized chair, crutches, wheel chair to safely get to the other side. But personally, I don’t think anything will satisfy every crosser’s concern so maybe you survey those that live across from the town center and see what they all have to say.

American Legion Post 34 to honor National POW/MIA Recognition Day with special event
Faces of Freedom, American Legion Post 34’s theme for its 75th anniversary, will host a unique evening event to pay homage to National POW/MIA Recognition Day on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 6 PM.
In the United States, the third Friday in September honors POWs and MIAs. Each year since 1989, a presidential proclamation brings the nation together to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made by the military men and women who are imprisoned or unaccounted for as a result of their military service. Approximately 82,000 Americans remain missing from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Gulf War and other conflicts.
The American Legion is committed to the return of living POWs, repatriation of the remains of the fallen from war zones abroad, or a determination through convincing evidence that neither is possible. Post members and the public are invited to gather in the Al Morgan Hall for this formal occasion featuring guest speaker Tom Kirk, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot in Korea, and Vietnam, including spending five-and-a-half years in the Hanoi Hilton. Following the keynote speaker, there will be a toast to the missing while enjoying some incredible appetizers. This event is open to the public.

Cave Creek Museum to participate in annual Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day
