What a great photo of you and Herbie. Love it.
The Pumpkins were amazing this year (those mice were to die for), Carefree once again outdid itself! Thanks for a wonderful festival.

Good Morning Lyn,
We will no longer be offering the buffet style brunch, but are instead going back to our off menu brunch. It seems to be what the people are looking for.
We greatly appreciate all of the publicity you give us.
See you soon.

Lyn,
I am disgusted at Mrs. Linda Rawls attitude on two accounts:
1/ People who don't like airplane jet noise should not build or buy a house at the end of the runways of Chicago's O'Hare or NYC's JFK airport. Motorcyclists have been cruising up and down Cave Creek Rd long before she moved here. Maybe she'd be happier in Sun City. Cave Creek has been a mecca for country entertainment, cowboys and cowgirls, the western lifestyle and motorcycles for many many years. I started coming here 30 years ago, and built a home here 15 years ago...and if anything, motorcycle noise has been reduced in recent years....I know, I have several of them.
2/ NOT STANDING for the PLEDGE of ALLEGIANCE and / or not saying it is absolutely despicable, un-American and she should be asked to LEAVE the room if she continues this offensive inappropriate behavior. Sun City would
be too good for her, she should consider leaving the USA. I can only imagine what side of the political fence she is on.... There is absolutely NO excuse for this kind of behavior. She needs to listen to what Teddy Roosevelt had to say about what it means to be, and what is expected of you, IF you choose to be an American and / or immigrate to this country.
Respectfully,
Mr. A. B. Boand

Am I supposed to care what she thinks since she can’t stand for our Pledge or say it? She is right about the noise, etc. but I sort of am glad she is unhappy. Hard to care for her complaints when she doesn’t respect our wonderful country.

Dear neighbors:
It was both a shock and a surprise to first hear, then see, a rattlesnake on the west side of our house at around 7:00 pm. Patti and I were getting ready to take the dogs for their evening walk to the gate and back.
Yes, after living here for 16 years, we have seen our fair share of rattlesnakes but never this late in the year.
Just thought you should be aware.

Lyn:
Latest email that I sent out to my neighbors.
Dear Neighbors:
In response to my email of yesterday, I received a response that included information that may be helpful in the future.
FYI, Rural Metro, the fire service company under contract to provide service to the Town of Carefree will respond to calls of rattlesnakes in a house, garage, or yard. In the past, Rural Metro would catch the snake and relocate it away from where it was caught. There is now a belief that rattlesnakes tend to be territorial so there is a new procedure:
"Apparently they no longer relocate the snakes and he proceeded to behead the snake and bury it. The operator who sent the fireman out said that in the future we can call 480-945-6311 rather than 911 for this problem."

I talked to Chief John Kraetz. Apparently, a couple of years ago, Rural Metro caught a snake, which was “relocated” off the property. The snake returned the next day and bit the homeowner’s dog…not a happy scenario. That’s when things changed.
Now, John said that the responders tell the homeowner that they have an option for relocation or final farewell and burial. We chatted about the many environmentalists who may take a position about the ecosystem, etc. We also chatted about the lateness of seeing them. He recounted nearly being bitten on Christmas Eve. They are slowed down as the weather cools but will still like to warm up in the desert or on asphalt.

(Lyn's note: An alternative to R/M is Phoenix Herpetological Society is at Scottsdale and Dynamite. Their number is 602 550 1090. That's Russ, the head honcho, and he will dispatch someone from PHS. They drive out into the desert and release the snake. )
