Due to Covid-19, the meeting was again held via Zoom. Normally, this the Swearing In Ceremony is done in person in the Council chambers and each member repeats the Oath of Office. Kandace Contreras explained that in order to swear in the new Council via Zoom, she would read the Oath of Office, beginning with the Mayor, who is sworn in separately, then would read it for the Council members, all of whom would raise their right hand. After she was finished, each would state their name and say yes to acknowledge their pledge. She asked that each sign the Oath they received in their packets and return it to her for the record. They also received the Code of Conduct, which Mayor Peterson asked to have signed and returned with the Oath.
The new Council consists of Mayor Les Peterson, John Crane, Vince D'Aliesio, Tony Geiger, Stephen Hatcher, Cheryl Kroyer, and Mike Krahe.

Mayor Peterson recognized outgoing Council member Gene Orrico's 5-1/2 years of service on the Council, saying Mr. Orrico had done yeoman's work in terms of working with our merchants, and had been part of the travails and discussions the Council has endured. The Mayor thanked him and read the inscription on the plaque that would be presented to Mr. Orrico. "The Town of Carefree presents to Gene Orrico the grateful recognition for your hard work and dedicated service
to the Town of Carefree as a Council member from March of 2015 to November of 2020." He noted that the plaque would be ready next week and asked Mr. Orrico stop by Town Hall to receive it, at which time the Mayor would "bump elbows" with him. "Thank you for all of your service." The others present also thanked him and applauded. Mr. Orrico thanked all of them, adding that he knew Tony Geiger, the new Council member, would do a good job.
