Mayor Les Peterson said The Town is required to annually provide the name of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) designated to submit the current year's annual expenditure limitation report to the State Auditor General.  Gary Neiss explained that Schedules A-Z are prepared by the Town Clerk, acting as the CFO.  This formalizes that title.



Councilman Stephen Hatcher asked, "What's the driver?"  Kandace French Conteras replied that she has prepared and filed this report each year, but a legislative action passed last year now requires Council approval of the name provided.  The Council unanimously approved Mrs. Conteras' title as Carefree's CFO.

Mayor Peterson noted that this was a text amendment to the existing floodplain management regulations, addressing minor updates in line with current regulations, in a continued effort to reduce the risk to life and property from future flooding hazards in Carefree.  This was the second reading of the Ordinance.  The first reading took place at the August Council meeting.  For those who missed the Carefree Truth newsletter covering that in-depth discussion, here is the link.
