Thank you Lyn for coming out in the rain to the Hanukah lighting last night, and to Herbert for video taping it. So fun to watch again! I really enjoyed participating on community night. Carefree is so carefree and warm spirited! Enjoy the rest of the holidays and Happy New Year!

Thanks for sending the pictures. I will forward on the Abe and Ike as well. They will be very happy to see them. As usual they are great ….thanks to Herbie!!!!! We realized the lights hadn’t been turned on way too late. Unfortunately, but glad Herbie will be able to get something from the Video. And also glad you will be coming on Thursday. I am honoring Alison and inviting all the community to light and PRAY that I do not get marooned with an overflowing Cave Creek preventing me from making it to the lighting! :)
Thank you for your interest in last night and this very special program in Carefree. Next year a local resident, Janice Freibaum (who is the child of a holocaust survivor and is the former president and current vice president of the Phoenix Holocaust Association) has agreed for next year (2020) to lead one night and have another holocaust survivor as our candle lighter to share his/her story.
Happy Holidays !

Lyn:
Thank you and Herbie for the beautiful Christmas and Hanukkah photos as well as the great write-up of the Ike Feiges night. We missed it because Renee was fighting a bad cold and cough, but we hope to be there this weekend, weather permitting.
Happy New year and best wishes.

The scary part of this is the fact that trolls on social media could easily wipe out a wonderful event such as the Pumpkin Festival. God help you when they don’t like the next thing that Carefree does. RIP pumpkin festival...
Wonderful traditions. Hope the internet trolls don’t get po’d about some aspect of these beloved events and try to stop them as well.

Hi Lyn,
I was saddened to hear that Ray and his wife were so incredibly hurt this year due to the amount of negativity on social media regarding the pumpkin festival. If you, or anyone, are in touch with them, please, please, please, let them know that the majority of us loved every bit that they did and contributed to our gorgeous community. The artistry was astounding and brought many people to Carefree who, otherwise, didn't even know we existed.
I participated in the haunted house this past season and had a blast as did the many people who came through. I was able to wander through the pumpkin gardens and was amazed at the creativity and love that went into every scenario. I'm sorry that I didn't get to visit the fortune teller but I heard from three others who saw her and they said she was dead-on with her readings. When I was there, outside of opening night, it was packed with many people having the time of their lives. This is what Ray and his team brought us. There was so much happiness involved at the mere price of $15.00 and then, I think, $12.50 for the second weekend. Totally worth it. There will always be negative people and it seems that their only job is to try to push their own ill will onto others. I try to pay no attention to it, but I do understand why it hurt Ray, his wife, and his team so much. That kind of negativity feels so incredibly personal and hurts to the core. That particular Facebook page is notorious for nasty comments by unhappy people so I don't go there anymore. Please let them know that they are loved. Of course, you and Herbert are as well!
Happy New Year and here's to a wonderful 2020!
