Marketing Director Beth Renfro said Carefree has a very busy April. The Community Block Party is taking place on Saturday, April 6th. Gregory T. Glass Artist Residency, the artist who sells the glass pumpkins at the Carefree Enchanted Garden Pumpkin Festival, will be giving live demonstrations of glass blowing in the Pavilion from March 30th-April 6th, and will be offering classes. Rock the District concerts, an annual fundraising benefit for the Cave Creek Unified School District's Educational Foundation, will be taking place in the area around the sundial on Friday and Saturday nights, April 12th & 13th, from 5 PM-9:30 PM. The final Gardens Seminar of the season will be held on Saturday, April 13th, in the Council Chambers beginning at 9:30 AM, with the subject "Gardening in a Severe Drought". Saturday, April 27th, is World Tai Chi Day. The free program will be hosted in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion by Lifestyle by Chi from 10 AM-noon. This is done in conjunction with over 100 cities across the world.
(Lyn's note: The Kiwanis Splash Pad is now open for the summer. The Farmer's Market is held by the sundial every Friday from 9 AM-1 PM. The final "1st Friday Art Walk" of the season takes place tonight from 4-7. The Carefree Desert Gardens Photo Contest is accepting entries this month, with the awards ceremony to be held in conjunction with National Public Gardens Day in May. Submissions Accepted April 1–26Calling all photographers! The Town of Carefree is again holding its annual Carefree Desert Gardens Photo Contest, with submissions being accepted beginning Monday, April 1 in several location throughout the Town. Entries vie for the popular “Peoples’ Choice Award” as voted by the public, which will be presented in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion on Friday, May 10, in conjunction with National Public Gardens Day.
Images must be taken within the Carefree Desert Gardens in the Carefree Town Center, with no time constraints on when the images were taken.
Contest entry is free, and the winning entries will have their images used on future marketing and promotional materials by the Town. See contest entry form for complete rules, submission locations and usage information.

healthy even in harsh, dry conditions.
Seminars are held the second Saturday of the month, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 33 Easy St.
Programs usually include a plant raffle, and a suggested donation of $5 or more is requested in order to support these programs.
Early attendance is recommended.
