Dear Lyn,
Today (Sunday) I fell while walking my three corgis. I tripped over the curb. I couldn’t get up and didn’t know what to do. A wonderful man walking his two rescue labs hooked them up and helped me up, took me to the ladies room to get rid of all the blood and helped me to the car. He gave me a hug and a cheek kiss and as long as I live I will forever remember his caring. A thank you to this wonderful, wonderful man who helped me so.
Louise Short
(Lyn's note: We are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful community.)
Lyn,
Please warn folks in our neighborhood that the coyotes are particularly aggressive right now. Around 8:15 AM today (Monday), I was walking my dog Bishop, and had turned onto Leisure Lane. I was only a hundred yards or so up the lane when a car came up behind me and laid on the horn. A coyote was about 10 feet behind me, and it ran into the yard on my side of the road, then stopped and watched me. The lady in the car probably saved my dog from being attacked. This coyote did a wide circle around me and my dog twice, and another neighbor came out, and told me I was being stalked by the coyote and there was probably another close by. I turned around and headed back home on N 58th, and that coyote followed me all the way home. Glad I did not have far to go!
Thanks,
Jackie Jameson
(Lyn's note: As requested by Jackie, I sent this out immediately to our residents in Sentinel Rock. It got some responses. See below.)
They are also travelling in small packs regularly, and while they don't necessarily seem aggressive, they definitely are bold. And they've been having howling parties in our back yard almost every day. They seem to be having a very busy season.
Several days ago, Becky, Harry and Nash (big guy) were walking and the pack of three or more just kept marching down the road at them.

Saturday night at 11:20 our outdoor cameras picked up no less than 8 to 10 running in a pack through our driveway. A pack running this large can be very dangerous to anyone.

Tell your friend Laurie that I'm sorry for almost killing her laptop and that I'm more than willing to replenish her Kleenex supply. As to Equine Back Rubs, that sounds like a True Tall Tale that only she can write.
Phil Corso
(Lyn's note: This was Phil's response to Laurie's response to his guest editorial about the lady who wants to open a horse therapy organization for veterans.)
LYN--EVERYTHING WAS GREAT-- AS USUAL--HERB DID A GREAT JOB. THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THE VETS. ENJOY THE COMING HOLIDAYS ---RON CROUSE
I really enjoyed this year's program.
Vince D'Aliesio
Great....we need more of that. Nice work Lyn.
Walter Smith
Lyn: Thank you for pulling this together and sending it out. What a wonderful day, especially meeting so many amazing people like yourself. I have a meeting that David Lucier will be in at the VA Medical Center and can pass this on to him if he does not all ready have it. To all, please do not hesitate to reach out if you know a Veteran who needs help or if there is anything I can assist you with.
Pat Upah
Thanks for all your work on the veterans program! Lyn, you're special!!!
Hank Molder
(Lyn's note: Hank played Amazing Grace on the Native American flute at the event. He can often be seen and heard in the Pavilion playing his wonderful music.)
Lyn:
You have previously been told, by me and many, many others of the good (good is not strong enough, great is better) work that you and Dr. Herbie do for the Town of Carefree with videos of Town Council Meetings and other events.
Thanks to those efforts, the emails and videos covering the Salute Our Veterans event provided a reminder of things that I wanted to do. Colonel Patricia Little-Upah told of her experiences, far too many for me to recall. But, thanks to your narrative and video, I was able to go online and find the video of Brian Mancini. It was only 12 minutes long and has to be one of the greatest teaching moments why we should always be eternally grateful to our military and all first responders for what they do each day they put on their uniforms and “go to work”.
I am sending this note, not to praise you and Dr. Herbie, but to ask that you publish this in your Letters from Readers as a reminder to others that they take a little time to watch the video.
Thank you.
Arthur Gimson
I am all teary eyed… What a great video with stills and music. Ahhhh. Herbie is very talented! Big hug Lyn, thank you so much.
Kelsey Hayes
(Lyn's note: Kelsey is referring to the AT&T 3 Miler Race that raised money for veterans and their families the Saturday before Veterans Day. She was one of the organizers. It was a great event!)
