Hi Lyn,
Just an FYI...Our popular Desert Garden Seminar series will kick off on Saturday, January 12th, and our speaker will be Darren Julian, Urban Wildlife Specialist for Arizona Game and Fish Department. His topic will be "Living with Urban Wildlife." Seminars are held monthly from January through April, beginning at 9:30 AM in the Town Council Chambers, 33 Easy Street.
These wonderful seminars focus on topics of interest to the veteran gardener and as well as those new to gardening in our desert landscape. All are welcome!
Thanks, Lyn, and Happy New Year to you and Herbert.

(Lyn's note: We've been running this under non profit events & info, so for more info on this particular seminar, check the non profit email we'll be sending out later today.)
Hi Lyn,
I'm excited about Rock the District taking place in Carefree on April 12th and 13th. I've been a part of it for five years when I was the chorus director for Sonoran Trails Middle School and my chorus opened the concert all five years that I was there. Prior to that, Martha and I knew many of the talented young artists who performed in the concerts, and no doubt will know many of the current performers. It is a well run and exciting event and the talent is always extraordinary. Kudos to Carefree for approving this event which is sure to bring in huge crowds and congrats to Rock the District on their 10th year anniversary. Can't wait!

(Lyn's note: Yes, and it's neat that it raises money for grants for the teachers and for the students who need extra help. Great event on all levels!)
Yep! It started out that they provided grants for the arts only but they've expanded outside of the arts. I know that one year new guitars were provided for the elementary schools and in another year computers were provided for tech classes. They do great work!

Dear Friends, Patrons, Collectors and Art Lovers,
Happy New Year! Joy and I both wish each of you a wondrous New Year of 2019 filled with love, hope, peace, happiness, new adventures, good fortune in all that you do and, of course, ART! Our NEW YEAR news is that after much thought and discussion, we have decided that it is time for us to make this our last season and retire from gallery life. And so we will be closing our gallery at the conclusion of our 6th season here in Carefree (May, 2019).
The TED PHILLIP DENTON CONTEMPORARY ART GALLERY will be "business as usual" through the month of May, 2019. Business hours are WEDNESDAYS through SATURDAYS, 11:00 to 5:00 PM and FIRST FRIDAY ART WALKS (January 4th, February 1st, March 1st, April 5th and May 3rd). YES, this Friday, January 4th, is the very first FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK of 2019. This time frame and hours will give us the opportunity to thank all of you, our patrons and visitors for making our 6 seasons in Carefree so successful. Also it will allow us to thank and express our appreciation to the fine artists that we have so proudly represented in our gallery. And give you the opportunity to once again consider adding our art selection to your personal collection:
TED PHILLIP DENTON --- Metal Sculpture, Acrylic Painting, Mixed Media
YENNY COCQ --- Miniature Bronze Figurative Sculptures
DAVIDRO --- Kilnformed Glass
HANS FINSTERWALDER --- Wood Turnings and Wood Sculptures
KEN GOMETZ --- Ceramics
PUCK HOGENBOOM --- Burnished White Clay Sculptures
TOM KREUSER --- Ceramics
JOEY MORGAN --- Composite Imagery
JOY LANDAU --- Beaded Jewelry and Photography
BENSON MANYGOATS --- Sterling Silver and Gemstone Jewelry
JOVANNA POBLANO --- Beaded Jewelry
So please do stop by to see us during the ensuing 5 months. What we will miss the most as we retire from gallery life will be the loss of interacting with all of you, our wonderful visitors, friends and supporters and the conversations we have had about art and architecture! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
TED and JOY
