We are concerned about the safety of our ballots for the mail-in. Is it possible to vote at the town hall from October 7?
Louise Short
(Lyn's note: Mail-in ballots can be dropped off at Carefree Town Hall. I believe the drop box will be placed there on or about October 8th. Because Carefree Town Hall is small and cannot accommodate social distancing requirements, the local in-person polling place will be located within the Cave Creek Town Hall buildings, which was where it was located during the primary election in August.
We would like to share this video with all Kiwanis members, volunteers and friends.
Thanks,
John Skarda
(Lyn's note: Click on the link above to see the short interview with Pam DiPietro of the Food Bank and John Skarda and Ted Dimon of Kiwanis, about the $5000 donation from Kiwanis to the Food Bank and how the holiday meals will be handled this year by the Food Bank.)
Thanks Lyn,
Kiwanis has been helping the Food Bank since I started in 2002. Great group!! I've known John and Ted for a very long time.
Have a great day,
Lots of hugs and thank you's,
Pam
Hi Lyn,
I want to let you know that we are conducting our first Healing of Memories Zoom Workshop for the General Public on Saturday, October 9 from 10am to 2pm (AZ time). This workshop has been designed to provide healing to those who have experienced painful memories during their lives. The timing is especially good because of the stress that many people have been enduring during the Covid epidemic. This includes healthcare workers, counselors, chaplains, first responders and care givers. I have included information on this workshop below that provides the cost and registration link. I have also attached a poster.
I have a person who will pay the fee for one law enforcement officer who registers.
Please help me get the word out to those who would benefit from this healing experience.
Thank you.

This workshop is a response to the emotional, psychological and spiritual wounds caused by personal trauma. It helps participants learn ways to overcome anger, loss, grief, guilt, anxiety and so much more. This 4-hour virtual, online workshop is based on our highly successful weekend in person workshop. The Zoom workshop does not provide the full experience of the weekend workshop, but does provide a significant level of healing and connection for the participants.
The Healing of Memories Zoom Workshop will be conducted online on Friday, October 9 from 10am to 2pm Arizona time (Mountain Standard Time – Same as Pacific Daylight Time). The cost for the workshop is $150. Those interested in the workshop may register on the Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center website at https://spiritinthedesert.org/event/live-via-zoom-healing-of-memories-workshop/.

Hi Lyn!
I was given your name from Pan Wold, who has encouraged me to reach out to you, so nice to meet you. I have looked at Carefree Truth and think what you are doing is wonderful!
I started a non-profit , Purse-Impressions , last year after I lost my 28 year old daughter to alcohol abuse. Our mission is to provide ‘fresh start’ purses and backpacks to graduates of rehab, allowing them to leave with dignity. This was actually my daughter Courtney’s idea.
Since she passed we have donated 1200 purses and back packs to 8 rehab facilities in AZ, CO, FL & Canada. I have quickly outgrown my house, so I have just leased a space in Mariachi Plaza to serve as our head office and Charity Boutique. I have beautiful name brand purses I am selling in order to buy hygiene kits for our bag donations. I am currently accepting purse donations
Take a peek at the website. I’ve included a picture of me in front of the Boutique. We just officially opened last week, so we are diligently working to get the word out. I would be grateful for any assistance you could provide.

I really appreciate you including our info on your newsletter. I can’t thank you enough for your support.
I have eaten at Alberto's just once before Covid, but want to go back now that they are open!
I’m looking forward to meeting you. Come by the Boutique anytime ( Tues-Sat 10-2)
Thank you.
