Gary Neiss noted that the first reading of an Ordinance to repeal the existing Ordinance for the Cable Television Code and approve a new Ordinance that aligns with with the new State Statute was heard at the June meeting. A Uniform Licensing Agreement, which was required to be implemented by all communities in the state by July 1st, was passed at the June meeting. This was the second reading of the Ordinance codifying the fee schedules, which is required by State Statute. Mayor Les Peterson pointed out that there was no alternative. The motion passed unanimously.

During the April budget meetings, the Council agreed to include funding for a new Case 57 NEP tractor to replace the 30 year old one being used by the Public Works Department. The tractor would be procured under the ADOT Master Contract for approximately $78,000, saving approximately $31,000 over the retail price due to the quantity discount received by the State. Delivery could take up to 3 months, depending on stock, but the Town is hoping for an earlier delivery to help with summer monsoon clean-ups. Vice Mayor John Crane asked if that price included delivery and a warranty. Mr. Neiss confirmed that it did. The Public Works personnel already know how to run the tractor, so no training is needed. Councilman Stephen Hatcher asked if a trailer were included. Mr. Neiss said no, the tractor is driven around town. The Council unanimously approved the purchase.
