Kandace Contreras reported that the Hampton Inn has applied for approval of a Series 7 Beer and Wine liquor license.  There is a reference in the application to Harkins Phoenix.  Hampton Inn has nothing to do with Harkins Phoenix.  This is a common practice due to the limited number of liquor licenses.  Hampton Inn, known as Carefree Hospitality, has purchased the liquor license from Harkins Phoenix.  This has been thoroughly vetted by the Arizona Department of Liquor (ADL).
 
 
The Town publicly posted the application on the Hampton Inn fence on September 30th.  The 20 day requirement for public posting had passed prior to the October Council meeting.  No public comments had been received. 

 
 
Mayor Les Peterson repeated that the license was for beer and wine only.  The liquor license was approved 6-1, with Councilman Vince D'Aliesio dissenting.
