I took the one of the coyote from our guest bedroom. The video in the dark - turn the volume up - it’s the owls. I named them Ombra (means Shadow in Italian) and Archimedes. The photo of the Javelina was taken yesterday. The photo of the two coyote? That was actually a pack of 6. I have that video, too.

The American Legion Post 34 auxiliary will host a rummage sale on Friday, January 21 and Saturday, 22, 2022 at the Legion Post from 8 AM-3 PM. Featured goods include clothing, thrift store goodies, a pool table, household items and more. Donations of goods can be made up until January 16, 2022. Susie Snider, who is orchestrating the rummage sale, says 100% of the proceeds benefit veterans. American Legion Post 34 is located at 6272 E. Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek, Ariz.

Evelyn Johnson, interim executive director, says the museum will start up its incredible stamp mill, water tower, mineral panning, blacksmithing and more that Saturday.
“Cave Creek Museum is proud to feature Arizona’s mining history,” says Johnson. “Our historic stamp mill and tramway is from the Golden Reef Mine on Continental Mountain and is the only one in Arizona within five miles of its original site. We want people to come and experience how gold mining was done back in the day. And, plan to spend time exploring our exciting new The Arizona Gold Mining Experience, which includes blacksmithing, a mine and gold panning.
The stamp mill will be operated on the second Saturday of each month during the museum’s 2022 season.
The 51-year-old museum’s mission is to preserve the artifacts of the prehistory, history, culture and legacy of the Cave Creek Mining District and the Cave Creek/Carefree foothills area through education, research, and interpretive exhibits. The Beatles: The Solo Years with Vinnie Bruno

Vinnie Bruno is back! The lecture will continue in the footsteps of The Beatles story and focus on the highlights of the “solo” post-Beatles careers of John, Paul, George and Ringo. We will explore the aftermath of The Beatles legacy and how they established themselves as solo artists. Our journey will also discuss their musical collaborations with each other on many of their solo projects. Coming full circle, we will explore their last collaborative project “The Beatles Anthology” released in the late 90’s.
As a Beatles Scholar and storyteller, Vinnie Bruno embraces the Beatles' legacy while presenting entertaining, interactive, and informative programs for both the casual listener and hard-core Beatles fans. As a 60s’ Rock Historian, his program list includes historic and musical overviews of nearly 100 rock and roll musicians and groups, each of whom helped define the 50s, 60s and 70s by creating musical landscapes that captivated a generation and whose influence in popular culture still endures more than five decades later. Mr. Bruno retired as Director of First Year Programs at LaGuardia Community College (City University of New York). He holds an MPA from Baruch College and, as an adjunct professor for 25 years, taught courses in numerous disciplines including Humanities, Business and Mathematics. He currently resides in both New Jersey and Arizona.

Jubilate Conservatory of Music Fall Semester Classes

Jubilate Conservatory of Music, a school of classical music, where young students learn to read and write music, begins in-person music classes in September. The Fall Semester lasts fourteen weeks. Violin, viola, cello and choir will be instructed in an after-school format. Online lessons and classes will continue with a particular favorite, Online Collaboration, where students work together online to create a music video. Being a parent is one of the most challenging jobs you will ever have, as well as one of the most rewarding. The end goal is to raise, confident, self-reliant, and well-grounded children. Discover options and solutions to the support you in your daily role as a parent, towards achieving that goal.

Art Masterpiece Class: Camille Pissarro

Come explore the French Impressionist painter Camille Pissarro through an Art Masterpiece class of his painting Pluie, Place du Theatre Francais, Rain. This class is for children in Kindergarten to 3rd grade and will include a brief lesson on impressionism, Camille Pissarro, and an art project.
This class will be taught by Wendy Wurr, who was trained by Docents at the Minneapolis Institute of Art on many masterpieces to be taught to elementary school students.

The Beatles: The Solo Years with Vinnie Bruno

Vinnie Bruno is back! The lecture will continue in the footsteps of The Beatles story and focus on the highlights of the “solo” post-Beatles careers of John, Paul, George and Ringo. We will explore the aftermath of The Beatles legacy and how they established themselves as solo artists. Our journey will also discuss their musical collaborations with each other on many of their solo projects. Coming full circle, we will explore their last collaborative project “The Beatles Anthology” released in the late 90’s.
As a Beatles Scholar and storyteller, Vinnie Bruno embraces the Beatles' legacy while presenting entertaining, interactive, and informative programs for both the casual listener and hard-core Beatles fans. As a 60s’ Rock Historian, his program list includes historic and musical overviews of nearly 100 rock and roll musicians and groups, each of whom helped define the 50s, 60s and 70s by creating musical landscapes that captivated a generation and whose influence in popular culture still endures more than five decades later. Mr. Bruno retired as Director of First Year Programs at LaGuardia Community College (City University of New York). He holds an MPA from Baruch College and, as an adjunct professor for 25 years, taught courses in numerous disciplines including Humanities, Business and Mathematics. He currently resides in both New Jersey and Arizona.

While parents attend Parenting 101, children are invited to participate in the following art class!
Come explore the French Impressionist painter Camille Pissarro through an Art Masterpiece class of his painting Pluie, Place du Theatre Francais, Rain. This class is for children in Kindergarten to 3rd grade and will include a brief lesson on impressionism, Camille Pissarro, and an art project.
This class will be taught by Wendy Wurr, who was trained by Docents at the Minneapolis Institute of Art on many masterpieces to be taught to elementary school students.
This program is suited for ages 6-9.

LEGO Build Your Own Adventure: Strongest Bridge
Tuesday, January 18, 4:30-5:30pm
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to build the strongest bridge out of LEGOs. The sky is the limit with how you meet this challenge. Librarian Heather will have bridge facts to inspire your design.

Teen Book Club: Manga Edition
Fullmetal Alchemist: Volume 1 by Hiromu Arakawa

Librarian Heather is diving into the world of manga for the first time and needs your help – either as a guide or as a fellow beginner! Each month, we will read the first volume of a different manga series to discuss it and manga in general. January’s book is Fullmetal Alchemist: Volume 1 by Hiromu Arakawa. Snacks will be provided! Interested in Dungeons & Dragons but don’t know how to get started? Love D&D but don’t have a group? Join Librarian Heather as she leads adventurers through a campaign, explaining the basics along the way. Both seasoned players and people new to RPGs are welcome! Gelli Prints: Notecards & Envelopes – Wed., Jan. 12, 2022 1:00-3:00 pm. Spend the first half of the class using Gelli print techniques. You will print lots gorgeous papers to use to create notecards and envelopes. Then Mimi will show you how to create beautiful double-sided envelopes in several sizes and make coordinated notecards to pair with them. Build Your Own Website – Sat. Jan. 15, 2022 10:00am – 12:00pm. Learn how to create your own websites using HTML and CSS. This sounds complicated, but there is nothing hard about it. You will be able to create amazing and beautiful websites with a simple “code”. This class is designed for beginners who want to build websites, and get their name and their vision out to the world! This will be a 6-hour class. There will be a 2-hour class from 10am – 12pm each week for 3 weeks. You will meet on the following dates: Saturday, Jan. 15, 22, and 29. $25. Friends and Family CPR: Wed., Jan. 19, 2022 – 12:00-2:00, 2:00-4:00. Would you like to learn how to save a life? Family and Friends CPR is for people who want to learn this life-saving skill, but do not need a CPR course completion card or certification to meet a job requirement. This course is for community groups, new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others interested in learning how to save a life. This is a classroom-based course that will be taught by an AHA Instructor in order to share the lifesaving skills of CPR with others. There is no charge, but donations are cheerfully accepted. Creating a New Normal With Healing, Love, and Unity: Sat., Jan. 22, 2022. 9:00am – 12:00pm. By now, we would have hoped to return to our normal lives. However, this does not seem to be on the immediate horizon. We must heal from the losses of the past two years, and then find tools to strengthen our mental, emotional, and physical health as we move forward. In this class, I will use my Hybrid-Hypnosis to facilitate the removal of emotional pain, and then provide you with tools and a vision of what is possible so that regardless of what is going on in the world, you will remain healthy, optimistic, and resilient. $45.
