After "America the Beautiful" was sung, "Taps" was played and the Colors were retrieved.

During Current events at the June 1st Council meeting, Mayor Les Peterson noted that the attendance at the Memorial Day Tribute was excellent. Vice Mayor Crane said that it went very well. They had great support from the Carefree Public Works Department and the staff in preparing the event. The local Cave Creek Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts helped. The speakers were great. The Heritage provided parking and van service. The Town had asked MCSO for 2 deputies; they provided 5. The Black Mountain Chapter of the DAR helped. It was a great program. There were more attendees than there were seats. It was very well received.
